Nice, have you guys decided on a colour yet?
My vote will go towards a nice deep red as seen on some VW Polo's. :D

Thanks Alan,

No I have the red Fastback, which is the deep VW red, and do not want another red car in the shed.

No we are going to make it a Team Gunston car, well .... nearly...

Yes, it will have the brown band under the door as above with the gold pin stripes framing the brown stripe.

Here is a pre-taste of the orange Benito as per the same shape as the Hahn...

WEEK 25 of build..

We managed to get the car flatted and primed.

At this point we are flatting again, just to prep her for final colour .

Worked out the location of the brown strip, and will be masking for the GOLD stripes 1st, then the BROWN stripes, before masking these to protect them from the body colour which is Gunston ORANGE

So here is how she looks now......

(maybe we should keep her this colour......    )

WEEK 26 of build..

THE HAHN IS PAINTED .... :D :D :D

We all 3 love the look of the NEW and improved Hahn.

BUT...

you will not be able to see it till its assembled and ready to be shown.

Just need to repaint the wheels to tie in with the car colour's, as the grey/silver on the center will not work for me.

Will also be removing the gold bolts around the rim, looks too blingy.

So till next time...

Thanks Guys,

Yes the Hahn is back in the assembly workshop all nice and shiny ready for the assembly.

So we will be putting her together as much as possible as she needs to be driven to PE for upholstery.

(This we have to do as she is too low to have an "A" frame fitted.)

No I can not do the Upholstery, and as I does not trust MYSELF. its up to ME to get it done.

Yes the seats have been done, as well as the door cards and the center tunnel console.

The Plus 2 seats and the door sill panels are also done.

Will be the roof liner and floor carpets that needs to be done to Finnish her off.

Will also be the 1st time that all 4 wheels will be fitted to her, and can not wait to see the effect.

So now that we have wet your appetite, we will leave you to wait for the final reveal.

Till next time.

Week 27 of build

So we have had to remove the 2nd hand motor from the Hahn,

and need to start striping it for its rebuild to 1776 cc with fuel injection and MP9 ECU.

To keep the Hahn mobile we have removed the 1914 cc motor from the Fleetline and inserted it into the Hahn.

The reason for this move is two fold, one the Hahn needs a motor to move around,

and the 2nd thing is that I may want to repair the Fleetline gearbox and replace the 40lt fuel tank with an 60 or bigger tank.

Test drove the Hahn with its new temporary motor and it goes like stink.

Keep in mind the motor has a balanced crank 1914 cc, twin Weber's, extended final drive gearbox and bigger wheels.

So from 3 happy chappies till next time.

WEEK 28 of build

Fitted two Bullet mirrors to the wings and the center roof mirror as well.

Ready for the trip to PE on Tuesday for the upholstery fitment.

Will have to get safety glasses for the trip as its not lekker to have bugs in the eyes,

Had to much of that in my youth on bikes (for the youngsters, we did not wear helmets of goggles in those days, just shorts, T shirt and plakkies.)

Will strip 2nd hand motor during the waiting time.... :D

Will let you know how the trip went.
