It was my first time being interviewed though.....

I started prepping my bug last night for the Zwartkops race. (19 Sep 2009)

Drained all the oil from the engine and dry sump tank, filled her up with some new shell helix 15w40 and a new z80 oil filter.
Removed the return pipe going back to the dry sump tank and started her till the oil cooler was flushed... 10lt of the gold stuff went into her last night

I also started checking the carbs for any dirt in the jets... so far none yet. Will check the other carb tonight. I do however want to go a tiny bit bigger on the idle jets.

Why ?? you did so well in the race i watched ! are you not going to over fuel ???? good luck with you preperation and your day at the races

The engine is a tiny lean below 3000rpm... want to see if I can sort it out.

Just keep it above 3000rpm problem sorter

Finished prepping her yesterday...
Gave her a good wash and enlarged the idle jets from 60 to 65's. It made the world of a difference. I never knew that small idle jet changes make such a big change on low down mixtures.

We had our first race in class D.... I need more hp!!!

In qualifying I only managed to get 3 laps before the yellow scirocco decided to ram my bug from behind.
Only cosmetic damage though...

Race 1, I def need more power. I really battled against the guys. Just before the end of race 1 the nr 4 spark plug decided to come out of the engine.... why? I have no idea. We got the plug back in for race 2.

Race 2, I had one super dice with a fiat 121, we probably sat door to door for three laps! That was awesome!

I did however manage to run a 1:16,8 which is my personal best.
