Yes, I agree. For me it is the most exciting part of the project but also the most expensive.

THE ROOF, THE ROOF, THE ROOF IS ON...

We took Oupa on a "road trip", towing him to have a new roof lining installed. I have to say that it is a bad experience driving without a front windscreen
I bought a black replacement lining from Volkspares and I think it looks quite good.

ASSEMBLY...CONTINUES

The tail lights, popes nose and engine lid handle have been fitted. Joggie decided to fit another arm for the bonnet to prevent it from bending and tearing again.

Steering wheel and gear lever have been sprayed. The interior is taking shape nicely with all the chrome bits being added.

I have been waiting for grommets to fit the beadings. They arrived at last and some shiny bits could be assembled.

THE DOORS (No not the band) Part 1

For those who is following this thread will remember that I really struggled to get doors for Oupa. I eventually got both doors but one had panels missing which Joggie had to cut out of the old doors and weld back in. The other door looked good on the surface but when Joggie started sanding it a rotten surprise was waiting for him. The previous owner used fibreglass to fix the door but did not remove the rust before applying it. Joggie had to cut out the rotten part and weld in a new section on the door.

The passenger side door has now been sprayed and the driver side door (the one with the rot) has now been primered and should be sprayed this coming weekend. I have bought all the rubbers and trimming for the doors which Joggie will assemble once he has finished spraying.

Once again I have to say ........ JOGGIE
