4agedub,

Is that rear window perspex? Do you have someone who can make up rear windows in perspex?

Hey Blitz, yet it is perspex. Got it from Maizeys in PTA, cut it yourself with a jigsaw. You can use an existing window as a template.

Thanks for the tip :) the only problem that i can see is making the perspex curve, if the rear window is curved. I suppose if you can get the curve correctly, then apply some smash and grab film, theoretically, it should be okay, until you save enough to import a proper glass one. . .

It is a mission to install the window. But once installed it looks like a std one.
Why smash & grab tint? For scratched on the outside maybe, but you wont throw a brick through the perspex.

Yup, main reason is so that it doesn't get scratched. The extra strength is just a bonus :)

I'm currently putting a presentation together for the historic commission... we want to run fuel injection next year. My one carb was badly damaged in the engine fire and we cannot get all the parts required to make it 100%.

The historics run pre77. So all mods from pre 77 are allowed. In 1974 VW introduced electronic fuel injection onto the beetles. So theoretically I should be allowed to run fuel injection then.

Hold thumbs for me

Good luck with that 4age but wont they make you get a system like that of the fuel injection beetles?or does it mean when you get the go ahead that you can pop on some monster throtle bodies and space age gotech system?

You could always hide the Gotech internals in an old L-Jet ECU casing
