You can get tp headcovers and a twin port manifold...or you could find a later type oil cooler and put al the tin from the later 1600's on it...with the cooler you got on now no.3 gets less air because the cooler is in the way the later cooler sit outside the fan housing,for better cooling...what carb do you have?the earlier carbs dont fit on the twinport mani. As the 34 pict 3 has a larger mounting base...but you dou get a adapter to fix that...

Dubster Thanks, I want to try and find the round doghouse and all its tin,and get the adaptor that is used on some engines that holds the whats called "twinport oil cooler" so if i do go with the twinport oil cooler i want to find all the parts that are needed to make it fit correctly and work.

In terms of the carb for now it is going to stick with the stock carb from a twinport engine but later on once I have saved up will go for either twin 40mm Kadrons or Sp carbs.

Thanks 1972, yours looked so good i couldn't resist finding out. I want to do mine in probably about 3 or 4 weeks time once i got my new car to drive which means i can fix my beetle up.

Been a long time since anything happened on the Bug

Since my computer took a dive, so I wasnt able to get pan halves so am now working with what I have started already.
There are a few things that need to be finnished so while I start saving again will just start with the things that just need finnishing touches and dont make me have to fork out $$$.
So First on the list will be the 6inch beam.

And I promise soon there will be pics!

HA! Will belive it when i see it.

They will come....will cut the supports for the 6 incher tommorow pull the beam out over the weekend and hopefull on monday I will go and pay Uncle a visit and get one of his guys to weld it up for me.Now all that has to happen is it must go as planned

A 6 inch narrowed beam?! Why??

Lowering the vehicle brings the wheel into closer contact with the wing lip.
Fitting different wheels can cause clearance problems with the tyre and the lip of the front wing.
Fitting after market disc brake kits can increase the track.
But the reason im building it is to see what the difference will be between a shockless and a non-shockless beam.

Non Shockless beam = jumping out of the road.
