Maybe make an intermediate lever to get around 180 degree issue. Centre pivot of this lever fixed near nosecone.

Thanks Dawie,

That will work, but the same issue I have is the same theory as for the pulleys.

That is that there will be no cable resistance between peddle and clutch resulting in a heavy shudder.

this is a thing I would have to build in by keeping one Bowden tube regardless which way I go.

But my thinking is that should I not have sufficient travel with my one pulley system, I can always increase the lever length of my peddle

So now 1st I have to get the wheels on the ground and test the release of the clutch the way it is.

Thought you could still retain a bowden cable on pedal side, even if it is a short one?

Otherwise the place where fulcrum of intermediate lever is fixed... Fix that to neither transmission nor chassis, but halfway.
Make another bracket where one end is fixed to chassis and other end to chassis. Then halfway on that bracket you mount the shaft where fulcrom point of intermediate lever fits. Or a position at similar ratio if the lever is not 1:1 ratio. One end of bracket should be able to slide perpendicular to cable angle to allow for movement between chassis and powertrain.
This way movement between chassis and powertrain, (as seen by the clutch), will be cancelled out.

Or is this becoming a bit complicated?

No , This is the joy of all the if's, why's, when's,then's, and try's that make this build such a pleasure.

There is no book for all the fun i am having and it keeps the mind fresh.

Yes we will try these option but only after I have looked into this one pulley system I have now,

Think it will be fine as we have added to the lever / cable end of the peddle,

so we should have the travel required.

Morning guys and thanks for the update.
I must however get this off my chest and hopefully teach something. I am by no means a teacher or english expert, but have noticed the incorrect word used for pedal.
I copied the below from google. :hiding: :hangloose:
Please don't take it personally, not intended to offend anyone.

peddle

verb: peddle; 3rd person present: peddles; past tense: peddled; past participle: peddled; gerund or present participle: peddling

try to sell (something, especially small goods) by going from place to place.
"he peddled printing materials around the country"

sell (an illegal drug or stolen item).
"he was arrested after trying to peddle guns"
promote (an idea or view) persistently or widely.
"he criticized his fellow candidate for peddling risky ideas"

peddle is sometimes confused with pedal

Pedal
noun: pedal; plural noun: pedals; noun: sustaining pedal; plural noun: sustaining pedals

1. each of a pair of foot-operated levers used for powering a bicycle or other vehicle propelled by the legs.
2. a foot-operated throttle, brake, or clutch control in a motor vehicle. "a brake pedal"
3. each of a set of two or three levers on a piano, particularly (also sustaining pedal ) one which, when depressed, prevents the dampers from stopping the sound when the keys are released. The second is the soft pedal ; a third, if present, produces either selective sustaining or complete muffling of the tone.
a foot-operated lever on other musical instruments, such as an organ.
a foot-operated device for producing a sound effect on an electric guitar.
short for pedal note.

verb: pedal; 3rd person present: pedals; past tense: pedalled; past participle: pedalled; gerund or present participle: pedalling; past tense: pedaled; past participle: pedaled; gerund or present participle: pedaling

1. move by working the pedals of a bicycle. "they pedalled along the canal towpath"
move (a bicycle) by working its pedals. "she was pedalling a bicycle around town"
work the pedals of a bicycle. "he was coming down the path on his bike, pedalling hard"
2. use the pedals of a piano, organ, or other keyboard instrument, especially in a particular style. "the organist pedalled furiously, her feet travelling musical miles"

Hi Alan,

Last I looked this was a VW aircooled forum celebrating the German model of car. :D

I am sure it was not the Windsor university of advanced English class 101

So I am sure that the odd German misuse of the written word in English would be acceptable.

No offense taken .....

But keep in mind that this is a multi nation utilized forum and the odd slip-up should be over looked. :D

Just to end off, my English teacher told to me them English I spoke by your self is improving plenty

PS, Spell check is mostly to blame as we click on "fix" but do not look what we have selected.

Is it correct to say "I is" ?

My English second language teacher said that one should always say "I am".

So i asked if it is indeed correct to say 'I am a pronoun". Or I am a letter.

Hi Dawie,

The Clutch seams to work great with the wheel, as you may remember I increased the length of the cable end lever some time ago

This has given me the travel that works.

Yes I have only tested on the blocks as well as in and out of the workshop and drive way.

BUT

The brakes are kicking my ASS.

Have changed to the BMW MC and booster, and get a firm peddle with engine off

But when starting the engine, and standing on the peddle, it sinks down to the floor.

Now it could be that the MC is shot as it came out a crashed BMW so that may have been the cause of the prang

Will be looking to fit new rubbers this weekend and if this works we have a moving MeFusco.

Here's hoping.

So we had the BMW MC serviced, could not get a kit for it so had to pay a B&C guy to do the re fitting of new rubbers.

Installed it today and did my 1st bleed under 4 Bar pressure on the reservoir filler cap.

Will probably do a few more over the next week just to make sure all air is out.

Have a firm peddle now but would need to test the brakes on the road.

So when I take it off the stands, we will do a controlled braking test.

Other than that not much has been done on MeFusco.

Till later

Herman
