As today was the end of the weekend, we have added some things done to MeFusco

We made a few "CAD" sections to close off the open spare wheel slot, as the wheel can not be stored there do to lack of space.

We will now carry a few repair cans and repair kits, and as we have a compressor on board, this should not be too much of a problem.

This will give a small storage space for the repair kits, and maybe a bottle of oil and engine spares.

Have also made the "Kid's" bench behind the two front seats, with its location strip.

The ""VW Aircooled Type 4""badge was also fitted to the back of the passenger side of the cab

Made the CAD sections for the hood side of the dash covers and transferred this to the hardboard panels.

These are now ready to cover with the inside of the hood space.

Still messing with the front bumpers, and still have to fit the rear mud flaps.

Did some brake testing against engine running, and not happy with braking system..

Have decided I want to fit a T5 Brake Servo VW 7H0612101A BRAKING Regulator Master Brake Cylinder Bkv

Anybody know where I can get one at a good price

So I was convinced that my MC was too small for the 4 disk brakes fitted.

Will be looking to fit a Booster with maybe a t3, t4, or t5 MC but in the mean time wanting to get MeFusco going on the road.

So I fitted my old Bus MC and I bled the brakes.

BUT,.... I still have air in the system, and can not get a solid piston

I am sure the problem sits with the front wheels, and yes I do have the bleed screw to the top on both of the wheels.

Have tried every thing I know on bleeding brakes over the last 60 years but can not get the air out.

Will remove the bleeding screws tomorrow, and wrap them with thread sealing tape, so to make sure we not sucking air in via the threads.

If you have any suggestions, please pass them on, as the last resort will be to remove the calipers and shake the air out.

Have you tried pressure bleeding? This is there you put pressure onto the brake fluid reservoir and force the fluid through by opening the bleed valves.

Also, make sure that the fluid lines are not creating any high points that may trap air.

Herman you will probably know this already, but if you have drum brakes the shoes must be set up correctly so the y just about grip before starting to bleed. If you only have discs it obviously won't apply.
Hope you come right. BTW, I usually bleed the pressure way as Tony suggested. Makes bleeding a one man job. BUT make sure the reservoir remains full.

Reverse bleeding, ie from the bleeding nipple back to the MC with a foot pump filled with brake fluid.

Thanks have not done it yet, but was thinking of it as most OEM's do it this way.

Thanks Alan, but yes I have disks all round, will try pressure bleed from both sides as well.

Had to use ratchet strap to get him down ...

Must add here that the brakes did not come up to par.
Just think the MC that we tried where to small in volume to press all the calipers.
So will be going for a 4 disk car set-up

As you guys know, the brakes where not up to my standard.

So off we went to the local MeFusco spares shop and hunted around for a suitable set-up.

Not being able to find a T5 Booster & MC, we opted for a BMW E46 Booster & MC.

Now as all these things where already in place , we would need to remove the unwanted parts,

make space for the new parts and also make adapters to make them fit into a very small space.

Now with a bit of strange words uttered, we made a adapter tube with mounting plates , bolts, and holes.

Now we just have to make space to get it all mounted..........

So here are the parts, we will fit and report back on outcome.
