Had a few hours of Sun this morning, so managed to put in the black Mat and rubber on the door sills. Pretty much finished inside except for the roof, which I'll probably only get to in Spring\Summer.

LOVE my Odo..

Pretty much done. Just the motor mods and "lip-stick" still to do, then it's ready for summer.

Hi,

so, that's pretty much it as far as the rebuild goes for my car. Very pleased with the finish and the quality. Took a hint from Mr T to let out some air and the car is so much better to ride in. Dynamat and thick Carpeting have also helped to quieten down the space. Dash is all working great, Speedo's about 10 km/h too optimistic, but that's 'cos I probably pished the pin back on in the wrong position.. I can live with that for now.
Here's some pics from a quick pose day on Saturday.

The last two major jobs to be done.. Motor refurb, with the help of Mr Z, I'll be uprating the motor ever so slightly, and doing a cosmetic rebuild with my new Red Shroud. The send project to still get done is my soft top installation. Been in contact with Paul overseas, owner of Mangosmoothie, who did some very impressive engineering on his awesome Speedie, and depending on how involved I want to go, I'll be doing my VS Stayfast top in the next few months. Also not sure if I want to get as complicated as that with an adjustable axis hinge, vs just using two basic hoops which will fit into the rear area of the car. When the weather improves, I'll take a look at my options and slap something together. For now, it's finished and usable.

End of rebuild.

Alan

Looks amazing.

Your degree of detail is impressive!!

Saw another silver Speedster parked outside the Spar near Parklands, don't know if you have seen it around :D

Thanks,
No I haven't seen it. I've only seen the Silver rent car once.. There REALLY aren't that many of them down here.. Mine will only come out on REALLY good days, and then it'll be for a cruise to Franchoek or surrounds. Or down to Eden on the Bay to Saints for a Sunday lunch.

Hey Alan.

Image

is the bumper on skew?

distance from indicators doesn't look the same to the bumper...........left side looks off.

Considering putting a alli edge on the threshold rubber, really does finish it off and it costs nothing. Carpets came out nice. What did you end up paying for them anyway?

Hey Gary. I don't think its just you.

I had the same problem with mine,. It was mounted too low on the car so I decided to move the holes in the brackets up by 10mm. I started with the RH bracket and then checked the level to see how much I had to drill on the LH bracket.... and to my suprise the bumper was level!!

I will put pics on my thread when I get a gap

Gary, it might be, I haven't checked. I'll fix it in due course, as well as the Aluminium strip on the door entry rubber.

Builders sells a nice alli edging for carpets, I think it runs around R32 for a 3m length. You can use it for the upper and lower part of the threshold, there's enough to do 2 cars.
