Tomorrow is the big day. She'll go onto the dyno again. I've got my jungle juice in the tank :) 110 octane home brew.

I'll post some results as soon as she is done.

It is a std ratio gearbox. I think 4.37 diff ratio. She does not feel too bad, but I want more (add evil grin smiley here)

It all depends on how busy we are on the dyno, if it calms down after 5 I'll go collect her from home and do the dyno quickly.

I had her on the dyno last night. Made 125kw @ 5000rpm (0.8 bar boost) The power falls off past 5000rpm :( . I def need to change the cam.

Drove her home last night and she does not feel too bad. 3rd and 4th gear feels really nice. I think the wheel alighnment might be out a tad as the feels really loose at high speed.

After a lot of consideration I have decided to take my red beetle to historics. I've got a 1914cc engine at home for her. As for the turbo engine.... I've got a new project for her. :)

hey 4age

you said you made 125kW. Was that at the flywheel or tyres? How much power did the gbox consume?

Just thinking about it.... are you sure its not your turbo thats too small?

It is making 125kw at the wheels.
Engine kw is + - 150kw at our altitude. Engine kw at the reef comes out to + - 174kw. This is at 0.8bar boost.

I'm sure that the turbo is not too small. It is a t3/t4. T04b compressor V Trim with a stage 3 .48 exhaust housing. The turbo is capable of 400+ hp.

The camshaft is a engle tcs-20. After 5000rpm it just looses power. At 5500rpm the power goes down to 120kw and 6000rpm 118kw. This is typical behaviour of the tcs-20 cam. Also the turbo starts performing really good at about 4000rpm. So that only leaves 2000rpm. I need more RPM !!!
