Replaced the rear g\box rubber mounting & replaced engine which had been sitting out for 6wks!

My axle boots are leaking, why?!

Check the position of your axle boot seams - there where the rubber ends meet and gets fastenend by those little screws, washers and nuts. They should be angled, wrt the surface, in other words more or less 2'o clock on the left and 10'o clock on the right. I got this from TheSamba - aim the angle at the nut on the gearbox that is circled on the pic. The original factory suggestion was to position the seam horizontal, but obviously they had the frequent selling of new axle boots to customers in mind.

Trial fitted the caravelle front seats and I liked them so much, I decided to keep them until they have to go for re-upholstery.

The Syncro came to an abrupt halt in the middle of an intersection. It was making a hell of a racket when you try to start it, so I did some investigating. I removed the plugs to do a compression test, and after seeing this plug from cylinder no 1, I had a bad feeling.

I have feeling that a valve might have dropped, I just did not have the courage to investigate it any further. This is the 3rd wbx engine in 2 years that has let me down, so I think it's time to look at something else.

Fixed a rattle in the engine bay (Hopefully). Finished the job in the dark, so will test drive her tomorrow.
