FINALLY, managed to cover the Dashboard "brow".. Horrible thing to work on.

Another big, awkward, but important job done. All the new lights all the way round are wired back up and 100%. Upside down under engine bay for a few hours isn't fun. Arms are knackered..

So, finally ready to sit in the drivers side of the car and attempt to clean up, straighten out what I have as a wiring harness. Then get gauges hooked up and hopefully all work ok.Need to get the Seats back to the Upholsterer. Was very close to cutting mine down to "look" original, but decided for what.. This isn't an Original, and I like to small headrests for both Safety and Comfort. Then still trying to tie down a deal to get a carpet guy to do the carpets..

Sunday, did a few small fixups.. Made Silicone seals around the base of the Windscreen frame as mine has a gap round the base. Should help for a water-proofing inside as well.
Then attached the wiring.. Wasn't too bad actually. Glad to find out the Tach works 100%, so the only un-known right now are the fuel gauge and the Speedo, but both are relatively easy fixes.

Cars starting to look EXACTLY what I wanted it to look like.

So, in my attempt to put this dash together as original and "period" as I could, I decided to use Ivory(Resin) Knobs. Well that's all fine and dandy until you get to the Hazard Switch. Now this animal has a straight forward threaded shaft with a small bulb in it. I just figure, if I cut a Bolt with enough thread, I can simply screw it into the Hazard Switch, (which it can), and on the other end, simply screw on one of my tapped knobs...

About 8 fuses later, I realize there's a problem somewhere.. I semi-burn out the Hazard switch, and go buy another off junkads. Same again.. EVENTUALLY, I deduce, (After running out of fuses), that the "threaded Bolt" I'm using, is in effect, shorting out the small "bulb" circuit that flashes for the Hazards!!!

So I've dremeled a recess cavity into the knob, and resin glued the original shaft with the black surrounding part cut off onto the Knob.. Will still look period, and doesn't short the fuse out..

Ho hum..

Progress.....I must admit the 912 gauges really look the part.

PS. Tach works 100%, glad about that.. Need to see how the Speedo works, and hopefully the fuel gauge etc.. Struggling with the Idiot lights.

Yep, straight in, thread works, all standard.

yup, fitting should be the same, mine is too damn short hence it being on the other side........

Naa, It just rubs me the wrong way how everyone references their cars or bikes as a "she".. FFS.. it's not a SEX, its a bloody car.

conversely, that doesnt make it a "he" either...
