Pulled all the crap lining off the Ghia's dash. Riped out the rear pacel shelf carpet. Realigned and fitted the rear seats. Pulled the motor to replace the front gearbox mounting. Only to find its not a standard beetle one. AND the mounting is not broken, its the bolt holes that are 3 times the size they supposed to be. Which means some arsehole never tightened the bolts enough when they were last fitted. Damn.

Tommorrow I will fit a new master cylinder and check the condition of all the brakes.

Things really get done when you have 2 appy's to help.

Then find somebody who can weld 2 washers onto the mounting.

Tom, Tom how good are your welding skills. But then again I think the Poly one is going to work. So I need to get to Dave Rowley. (Iwas in 2 minds about buying the poly one this morning, damn.)

Ghia back on the road. Repair gearbox mounting. Then reinstalled gearbox and motor. Set the timing and she runs sweetly again.

Brakes will have to wait till next weekend. Will also check all wheel bearings. As I dont understand why I can run for a whole week with no problems and then all of a sudden the brakes start to lock.

Time will tell.

Went to look at the upholsterers progress, and was gladly excited, seats are done, doorpads done, carpeting done, hoodling done, now to fit seats and boot carpet. Yippieee
