Hi there Frankie Boy!
It was great having you guys around this morning - we have now renamed Saturday Mornings to "Frankies Playdate" as you bring friends and family with you!
It was super to meet Barry and his boys and Farhaad (sorry you missed brekky - only 2 weeks to go).
I know that you were impressed with your rims!!! YOU OWE ME !

How about "The back seat? Aren't they just PERFECT

I am sure you will have pictures on by this evening, just thought that I would post before you today
Have a gret weekend all

OK, you have all been patient and yes as you can see from above we did the trip to Jurgen's with a few friends. Last weekend was Muderick and ChrisG. This weekend had the pleasure of meeting Farhaad & Barry (with the boys). Darcie (my 8 year old) came too.
So as Esme mentioned above...and I took pictures

Here are some pictures.......
The wheels all done and types 165/80R15 going on next week!
The bench seat has joined the front ones...and they look amazing! The panels will start this week but we have to make up the cards first. Original VW headliner is on it's way from Johannesburg and Jurgen has a 63 light that we can dismantle for the lens to finish the other front light. Thanks to Farhaad & BAB!
The EMPI GT2 exhaust has also been dropped off and that should be able to be fitted as the engine progresses. I still need a set of Chrome beading which Dave Rowley has on order for me.
Oh, Sorry but Rosie was not back at the shop so no pictures there!

Oh.....on the way home, I could not resist and see if Paul the Painter was around. He wasn't but one of the helpers was sanding another car so I managed to snap a few pictures (all for you lot!

)
As you can see a little bit of touch up but nothing major

. The weather has been crap in Cape Town so not been able to finish but I suspect that with the masking off, it might be very close to going back to Jurgen's for the rebuild to continue.
More next Saturday!

As far as I know, Jurgen is the engine and restorer man, all spray work and upholstery is outsourced.

Dutch, looking really fantastic. Seats, paint, wheels, the lot.
Going to be a real jealousy inducing bug.

Keep it up

HR, you are right.....Jurgen just knows the people that care as much as him for our cars....Barry has the number of the upholsterer I think now....

Those wheels aren't the original ones. I bought them off Chris for using one jobs just like this. I needed to take the originals off to get them powercoated and then painted. The tyres on the originals were crossply's and about 14 years old so I would not have sold as too many cracks.
When I'm done with Rosie, I may well consider selling the wheels and tyres that are on her at the moment but I need then still now!

Looking at the picture of Rosie reminds me of the original 4x4 Type 82
