If I had to explain to you the amount of times that shell was moved from "restorer" to "restorer" you would understand, also the amount of money that was stolen from me and the prices I paid for the spares I imported to rescue this bus..... :(

Full details will make you cry, but what I can say is that Mr Tony Niewoudt, famous restorer of the black and orange bus as seen at the Bugfest 2001, is officially a wanted man by the SAPS.

If anyone can assist me with tracing an active cell phone number to a specific area, I would gladly pay for it. I have physical addresses, ID number, car registrations (stolen!!) etc. that has taken me nowhere.....

Mate, I cannot figure out what's going on in this thread... There's names and places and a bus that went and came back, and I don't know what else, then a bus got cut up, and then the bits are for sale, or not, as the case may be, or not, now we're buying deregisterde bus papers, there's some oke called Jan but he's not being sued, neither is he the oke in sh1t with the cops, because his getaway vehicle is a stole orange split window bus from 2001, hell, I'm confused!!! :? :?

Dare I ask, or should I stay this way?

Ron,

Here is a quick summary:
1. I bought a Fleetline out of a scrap yard a while ago.
2. I then imported all the body panels to repair it.
3. Everything was given to Jan in Centurion to rebuild the shell.
4. After 7 frustrating months I went there the get all my goods back.
5. After a while longer I managed to get my deposit back. (After this was mentioned in the thread)
6. I then gave the bus & spares to Tony Niewoudt to do the restoration, based on the work he did on a orange and black show bus that was eventually exported to the US.
7. He pulled a fast one on me running away with a R10k deposit I gave him. I've opened a fraud case against him.
8. I managed to get the bus and spares back.
9. I realised this bus didn't want to come back to life so I decided to chop it up. The fact that Mr Tony started working on the bus and distorted the rear by cutting the chassis and not supporting it also contributed to my descision.
10. Me and Bugger chopped the bus up on Wednesday. He wanted some bits and I agreed to it. He then decided to see what interest there would be in selling the front and rear.

And that's the sad, sad story....

Can you handle that! Maybe it was the best to cut up that bus. Losing the deposit, and the frustration, and the audacity of these so called panel beaters/restorers?!
Hope you have better luck with the next candidate!

So JH, you not interested in getting the blue fleetline that Fig has and starting again? Great bus!

You could sell some of the parts / panels to the Oke's that have got the rescue buses from Fig to help rebuild!

Sorry about the sad sorry, there were a few time's I was worried about "Mo" never returning but I think I was lucky in a way :)
