That's interesting! Is the tank physically turned around, or is it a 68 onwards Beetle tank? (They had the filler at the top right, to accommodate the filler flap of the Beetle)

I am not under the impression for a single moment that the buggy build will be easy, and ran into the first (of many more I suppose) problems this afternoon. While taking the engine apart, I tried to remove the twin Cowleys, that are beyond repair anyway. Both are one-piece from the J-pipes to the place where they meet, so you'll have to take the exhaust studs of the heads on one side out to slide them off. Broke two studs on the right head

, now they'll have to be removed by someone more professional than me. That will teach me to work on a Sunday
But while on the subject - if I take the two heads (that seem to be in very good condition) to have them cleaned and serviced (and the studs taken out), the following questions
1. Where to I take them to?
2. What do I ask them to do to the heads?
3. Estimated cost?

pine the tank gets physicly turned around...i proper pic of the tank but this might help...
as you can see in the pic the hole has to be moved to the front of the tank wich is actually now back of the tank cause the hole is on the right hand side near the windscreen...and let me tell you it was a mission to do the conversion...i had to use my bajas tank cause the one in the buggy was VROT...
