the problem with the wireing is not at the moter side, it is all the wireing going to the so called fusebox and what is left of it under the dash, but i am slowly getting to it, all the wireing from the fusebox to the tail lights are sorted out now, so now i am busy with the wireing for the headlamps to the fusebox

Man, I would love to get my hands on a DC, but as they where never officialy imported into the US they are like hens teeth, and if you find one it is one of two ways - scrap or super expencive. But my Vanagon keeps me busy enough, I thought about the 4 individual seats but I will go bench (dont know out of what yet), and Porsche buckets up front. The V8 install eats up some space so I decided to loose the back seat, but gray or black leather will be color of choise. Got the plasma tv for the back seat and the sound system - about 1000 watt thru 4 10inch bass woofers and 14 other spreakers. Woofers will be mounted under bench seat for the thump feel. But I will post pics as soon as I have them ready.
Don't argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference

Have done so far a lot of the wireing, whats left to do on the wireing is radiater fan, dizzy and sigeret lighter(no i do not smoke)

the starter turns the engine very nice and fast over yesterday in a test swing. also used the ryobi drill to test the oil presure light and gauge, works well, the presure come qiukly up and then the drill doesnot want to turn, well it is rather a small drill i used on the oil pump shaft, fited the dizzy nou it is to wire it.

small things but yet some of them are expensive that still needs to be done on the DC

carpets + re upholstery (still rethinking of putting 4 buckets seats in or 2 buckets front and one bensch seat at the back)
tyres and mags
new shocks
exaust
gear selector shaft
sound system (think i will take my Cti's sound out and install it in the DC)
power inverter for the playstation
install playstation
freezed box
aircon
powersteering
wheel alingment
safetybelt adjusters

just a few things i can think of

Looking good Suzie. I would personally go with the full rear bench. I had a 2 seater from a caravelle before but it was a bit cramped with some wasted space. I installed a full bench from a Caravelle and adjusted the seatback a bit more upright. This means the seat can move a bit more back and give more legroom. It's great for going to the Kruger and also for travelling. Mom can sit at the back with my daughter and watch DVDs or play games on the removable screens. Next time I'll build my own rear bench and customize it with place for a fridge.

I wanted to fit the 2 seat at teh back with a fridge inbetween to have cold beers and drinks for the passies, but now that the laaitjie is here and the wife is nagging for a bench seat.

did you use the rear one from a caravelle or the centre one?

I think it it's the center one. It has the one flip down seat. I am planning to mount the jack etc behind it in that cavity. Makes it easy to get to. Behind the long piece the sounds system's amp and maybe a flat sub.

So i fitted this time a gud filter (will take pictures to show what is the difference between GUD and Fram and why you should not use fram on your engine then. also refitted my new carburator and it works like a charm no hufing and no oil filter poping, filled her last night with water, just a mere 16Liters, dem that is alot, but notice a smaal leak on the dariator, bleeded the clutch and bleeded the brakes but not so happy with the brakes and the hand brake s performance, but every thing is new and i think they need a little run in. started with the gearlinkage, oh my that is not so easy one so i will have a try agian maybe tonight.

update for the past weekend .

finished the wireing problems, alternator is charging now, had big problems with the bleeding of the brakes but got that sorted out, still has to do the handbrake adjusting. tooked it for a spin around the block, still battles with the gears, have now reverse, 1ste and 3de gear, no 2nd and 4th, will try tomorow morning to readjust the gear shaft. got my new set of 17" shoes, will fit them tomorow and hopefully if the gears is right i will take it qiuckly for wheel alignment, the exaust if stuffed, will do that later this week.
