... So we continued the next day with some more fibreglass (ing) to get all the holes filled up so that we can putty it up (fibreputty for the bigger holes and polyester for the smaller ones) and finish it off with some 150grit followed by 320grit. At least we got the fibre cloth and not that weaved mess... Gave it 4 or 5 layers of fibreglass to ensure that it strengthened properly.

Taking turns, because it's so much fun... :|

Image

And me again

Image

Some holes nicely closed:

Image

And a big smile to the camera... yea little bro, you just stand there and do nothing...

Fibreglass cloth

Image

Some more holes done

Image

Folding???

Image

Image

And a bit of ART :)

Image

And with the Fibreglass dried up, we started with some sanding around the holes so that the putty sticks nicely and just to give it some more finish.

Image

Image

While we waited for the putty to dry, we quickly started on the sidepanels, they had some tears in them when the nerfbars fastened, all fibred (???) up...

Image

With the panels drying, we set out and sanded down the putty and put some water on the body for the 320grit water sanding... (not alot of pictures here, as it was mostly wet and blue all over)

Image

The bonnet came out pretty smooth from all the putty we threw onto it the previous evening.

Image

With that done, the body is all prepped and ready for some spraying. (Had this part done, as I did not have the necessary tools etc to do it myself. Would have loved to though)

With the body gone, we had some time ripping out all of the old wiring and cleaning up the pan and engine "bay".
More photos to come.

Post is in English for all those "souties" out there :finger4u:

Just a few things I noticed...

Id keep an eye on klein boet when he is playing with power tools. There is a pic of him doing strange things to his groin area (ballsak) with the sander... Or is that a Jigsaw??
Its not ilegal but could require a trip the the hospital...

:hangloose: You gooi your huckleberry language this is SA after all!! Be proud to be a rockspider... I am... :hangloose:

... Got my goodies back from epoxy coating and bought a new EMPI short shifter, works like a dream. All pipes & wheels (Rollcage bar, front and back bumper & side nerf/nudge bars) were black epoxied, pretty impressed.

So F@KKEN excited, ek kon skaars slaap die aand. :hangloose:

Went past the next day to check on the progress and was thoroughly impressed, images will show why ....

New shifter, bars & rims:

And an engine bay without any wires :)

Engine tins to be redone at a later stage. Want to take out the engine and get it sandblased along with gearbox and tins.

I forgot to add the seats to the above list of things I got done.

Seats were re-upholstered, black with blue piping and stitching.
