Sounds like a great weekend bonding with the bus.....I'm jealous as mine's not there yet for longer trips....aiming for end of Jan for the George Car Show Run.

That's about as long a trip as I would try at the moment. The steering is still very vague and will need to be properly sorted as well as the throttle linkages. I am definitely aiming for George in Jan, it would be nice to meet you guys there.

Thanks, beetlefanatic, the photos flatter it a little. There is still a lot of work to do. But, just like travelling in one of these, restoration is all about the journey, not the destination imho.

I can't believe I only noticed this thread now!!! Awesome Westy & definately something to work towards, reading your posts here I realise I am in the same boat that you were in, definitely some handy info there.

When I'm "finished" with my resto I want one of those Westy tents they could be very handy for my camping trips.
