HI guys, some more pics of work that was completed in the last few days... The front and rear suspensions were cleaned, overhauled and painted. The gearbox was sorted and cleaned, the reduction boxes were completely stripped and new bearings and seals were added, before being reassembled and spray painted with black NS5.

The drums were all cleaned and NS5 spray painted, and were done over sometime in the past as they did not even need skimming...

I guess, the DC will be ready for rust removal and new panels soon... cant wait to get that started.

On the motivation side, we intend rebuilding a 1500 single port motor for it (as per OE spec) and for me this is always the best part of any build.

A few pics added, and chat soon!

On a more positive note, I will hazard a completion time of some time this year, so look out for it in George 2010!
Ps: we only work on Scruffles after work hours and on Saturdays.... so that is why it will take this long....

Muds

Latest update on our 65 DC project.

In the past few days the following happened:

*Rear suspension, gearbox, and reduction boxes were cleaned, overhauled and painted. added some pics of before and after.
*Drums and backing plates were cleaned and painted
*Steering box (ZF nogal) was overhauled, seals replaced, the one that I replaced it with had an OD of 1mm over stock size, as apparently the OG sized one is no longer made. I sorted this by removing the outer layer of plastic on the bench grinder, and it fitted snugly a few minutes later.

We also started on the removal of the cab floor, passenger cab floor, and load bed bottom floor. There was a lot of damage but nothing we should not be able to handle. At least now we can see the offending areas. Henry has also sourced a few plans of the net and we have decided on the best one with which we are going to build a rotisserie for the bus. We decided on a caged type variation where the front and rear attaches to a 8 sided hoop. To move the bus body, we simply roll the entire body from angle to angle. Also, this type of rotissrie/cage takes up less space and provides the most access to the body. Will add pics once completed.

More later
