hEY Bugger,

Please explain what you mean with centre mounted? What carb do you have??

I can ask this guy what he would charge for a Cam - what kind of application??? Street, strip or drag??? Why not buy one?? - they not all that expensive and are generally better grinds.

Do you know of anyone reliable to build a motor for me down here in Durbs. I dont have the technical expertise to build one myself???
Sorry I do not know anyone in Durbs that can build an engine. As I always say, Spend time reading and build the engine yourself. Books like the one sold by kalahari.net also helps. The best person to rebuild YOUR engine, is YOURSELF. :)

Dubster...is your carb similar to the 36 DCD?? If so then a manifold will set you back about R1850. Also an Engels Car w110 is the most popular cam of choice in the States for Mild Street use. With some head work and a 4 into 1 Exhaust, you will see significant power increases in your car's performance an it will rev much higher...

4Age: Do you really think that a total Novice guy can learn how to build a solid performance motor??? Bearing in mind you will have to purchase all the tools etc....???

Shot guys... :hangloose:

Whell start off building a stock engine. Drive it for a while, take it out and then go a bit wilder. You will learn from your own mistakes. (Sometimes a bit costy) Everyone has to start some where?

4Age is giving good advice, that is how I did it too, don't need too many fancy tools to work on a ACVW motor, but I have over the years bought specialised tools that help make things easier. Mistakes = schooling fees, learn from your mistakes, nowdays the internet has many writeups and info.
For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......
