Got my new rubber today for this adapter from CIP1. What a difference between new and old. No more cable ties, Patches or the rubber being sucked into the cooling fan.
Yes! You read correctly. Lucky there was no damage.

They are so soft, you can concertina the rear all the way to the front, while keeping the oval shape.

After the realization that the fuel Injection system, (old 411) will not work on the 2000cc type 4 motor, I went to the Kombi, solex's, but still not happy, so I imported me some 34 ICT weber's
The twins arrived, Welcomed, and where dually fitted.
The set -up was painless, very easy, the setting of the two carbs, by ear, was also easy, the motor NOW runs like a dream, At last I am happy with the performance of the engine.
For those that heard my Beetle at George, the willing, deep, crisp, sound, only a well tuned VW motor can give, well the Fastback has the same sound now.
With HR's convincing argument, about the suction bellow, I also placed an order for one, and this will then for-fill the last touch to the engine bay.
Well till then,
Herman

Update, on an happy day........
The Papers for this project has FINAL been completed............
With the Persistent help, and conviction of my friend, Gerhard, from Volksieshop in Bloem, I now sit with a car that is once more on the system, on my name and ready for RWC.
Also received the Oil Filler from him, today, cleaned, painted and fitted it today....
Only hold-up so far is the new bellow, and clamps, from CIP1..........
But it looks as if the Customs guy and his little dog, are still busy smelling, tasting, X-raying, smoking,

, and fondling my part, ............SO ....when they are done, maybe I can fit it and DRIVE the fastback to RW Test Centre......
Fitted the Beetle wheels onto the Beetle, so, eventually,

I can refit the Fastbacks wheels back onto the Fastback......
Till I get my parts from Customs, .........

Herman, it can be due to the fact that you live so far out of civilization. The post office are probably still using donkeys to deliver your bellows where you are. Mine took 5 days.

Finally got my bellow, and clamps released from customs........
Fitted them, and got the carpets in, now there is no excuse to carry on with the car.
Fitted the Fastbacks wheels, that was on the beetle, and fitted a new distributor cap and rotor.
Ran the car up to the service station and filled up the tank.
During a short run down the hi-way, noted the roof liner came loose in one spot, need to fix that.
Need to set the clutch up a bit, not releasing fully, and grates into gear, that's no good, need that adjusted 1st.
Think I will replace the front shocks as well, they just a bit to bounce.
This road run, was very useful in highlighting small niggle things that have to be seen to.
