This weekend I finally got around to doing the shocks, I went gas riders all round and while this amounts to a pretty hard ride all round, the handling on the car around corners is a million times better than what it was.
I'm going to be taking off the gas riders up front and putting the old ones back on as the no weight issues up front makes the nose very hard and very unforgiving. We're going to modify the chambers on the old shocks to use a different kind of oil that will allow for the nose of the car to be a bit softer, this is a bit of trial and error and I'm more than willing to try a few options.

Next we're going to be taking a spring plate out of the front suspension to get the nose down a bit, by a bit I mean 50mm as it's way too high and this is resulting into only the shocks being used and not the upper and lower torsion bars on the front beam.
As I'm too high up front, the torsion arms that are connected to the leaves in the front beam is not being used. Not a good thing.
Next on the list after the suspension is a new generator and fitting the 36hp fan shroud and making a new engine compartment seal.
The car has been booked for a new dash pad, new guage cluster fitment as well as the rear hood latch and getting rid of the yucky lock for the engine lid. Some minor fibreglass repair work after that and then hopefully paint if all goes well.
During this time, the car will be 100% driveable........I don't want to yank this motor out until the other one is ready to go in. I want zero down time on this car, I don't care what it looks like, it's summer and I want to enjoy it as much as possible with the roof down.
This little exercise pointed out a new thing as well.............I need jack stands as well as a decent jack......Using my honda's jack and bricks to jam up each corner takes for ages, I could have done all four shocks in under 20 minutes if I had a decent jack & stands.
