Thanks man, I will, the motor was picked up last night to do it over and it should be in by Tuesday next week if Dirk doesn't get too busy, I want to drive this to work a few times before I go on holiday.

Bugger I just wrote a reply and now it got booted.

Well the motor is in and running nice, the engine note with the exhaust is simply terryfing, so I may part with it as it's a bit too over the top for me.

Some changes to the plans.
1) no more 2.0 type 4 with EFI and custom cooling set-up.
2) no more disc
3) no more gearbox upgrade

Myself and the Missus sat down this weekend and decided to buy her next car cash and this meant me giving up on a few wants for the car. Not nice I know, but this does have a plus side.

The car goes in next month for a new dash cap, new padding, re-fit the gauges as well as the ignition and early steering column and after that is respray. Yup, you heard right, 2 days prep and a day to paint, sit in the garage for a while and then finish off. The missus agreed to get the car done first as I gave up on a few items......(love her to bits). This means the car should be done by the end of Feb, interior, exterior and a few other items.

The motor that we're going to fit is going to be a 1500SP, twin carbs, 36bhp fan shroud and a porsche oil filter in the middle for that porsche look. I also made a deal to swap my porsche replica wheels for an OG set of 4.5 wide porsche 356 wheels x 5 with tyres, the rims are tatty, but solid, they're going to be painted anyway.

And as you can guess, the colour has changed again as well. Off white with beige leather interior.........this means a new hood as well.

What's happening with the Type 4 engine?

Well I gave Armand the option on buying it, but he only wants the bearings and I'm looking at flowing the whole thing as a unit, so whatever bearings they don't use, they can then take it up with selling the rest to Armandm if they want to. I have someone who wants to do a complete swap for a good running type 1 beetle motor with papers, so that's pretty much what I'm looking at getting for it. I have the following:

- type 4 2.0 complete long block (nothing has been stripped yet), alternator, dizzy no carbs.
- 96mm 2.0 pistons and sleeves, ceramic coated (no rings) - the stock ones have to be given to Pierre (bugger)
- std, 0.25 main and rod bearings as well as cam bearings (Jake Raby imported MAHLE)
- stock type 4 EFI manifolds
- 1 DDH 44mm sidedraft (1 is Armands, dunno if he will part with it)
- stock type 4 exhaust + heater boxes

like I said I want to first look into selling everything as a whole, if this doesn't pan out and I end up splitting up the lot, then I'll let you know.

Hey P

Had a chat with Armand yesterday and we're going to finish it. Not as high spec as I wanted, but it'll still be a growler. I'm simply going to lose out on too much as I pretty much have everything that I need already.

Just the labour left over to pay.......
