Were you referring to the little 'o'-ring at the shaft of the dizzy? Do you have excessive sump compression?

Man didi what a man had to do just before sunset today. Will see what she looks like tomorrow once the sun has risen.!!Hloni wrote:Sure for that R&G, am goin' into the city today to get the stuff. This only stops when you soak them in caustic, why should your battery tray be any different......

Re: What did you do on your car today?
On the way home from the airport I decided to get the split out of storage and drive it to charge the battery. Went to fetch my daughter from school with it and on the way back it died in the center of the traffic intersection and did not want to start again. I had to push it to the side of the road with people honking etc. Found that the starter solenoid wire had come loose. Still could not get it started and almost drained the battery. Eventually got it going by pouring some fuel into the carb, but it did not want to idle at all. Luckily I could get home by keeping the revs up. So a fun drive turned into pain in the ass. Tomorrow I need to clean the carb and fit a new brake slave cylinder as on top of everything, I saw that the right rear wheel was wet with brake fluid.

So hopefully after the weekend I'll be able to add something to this thread everyday. The cabrio is coming out of storage tomorrow.
