Did the work myself.........very tough to get the hood lining in around that rag top....7 solid days inside the vehicle with a fan on the outside in 40 deg C weather..not so much fun. Most of the credit must go to TMI America....their products are amazing quality. I dug the bug out of Daspoort in Pretoria and had to use a few donor cars.....yep sorry a few other beetles were hurt during this production...not gonna lie here among my peers. This bug fought me all the way and just about every second bolt broke off undoing the fenders....loads of fun....more cursing....church visit...more cursing!!!! New rag top went in as well. Not for the faint of heart...lots of moving parts in that bloody roof

Thank you for all the positive feedback.....

Very nice, I like it....... but :?
A calooker will be completely de-chromed, with T-bars and the like, your ride is more a resto-cal look.... just saying. :zhelp:

That looks amazing! Is it a narrowed beam?

Callooker,

The early Callook for sure and I am in full agreement. My beetle do not meet the criteria that the DKP envisioned in the early years of the look, but low and behold there are many exceptions today and they are considered Callook.

There are a few in-between styles that raises the eyebrow and that I do not agree with.... :x

The late Callook movement and some DKP Vw's had a number of cars that did not go with the early look i.e de-chroming nerf bars etc. They had all their chrome etc. plus bumpers. It is becoming increasingly popular in the USA.

Some things like the coco mats and minor accessories need to be taken off and out of my 63 Ragtop. They just do not belong. The Vintage speed engine does not help either, but I stuck as close to the Late Callook as I could. I like the Resto Cal look, but I prefer later Callook of the 70's. The 80's and 90's.....not so much...in fact not at all.

Many clubs like Gezuvor and DFL etc. stick to the ethos of the late Cal looker...... :hangloose:

Thank you very much for taking the time and providing feedback and that little wrap over the knuckles to stick closer to the Callook...it helps LOL!!!

Sid,

The beam is not narrowed...it is running 145/65/15'S up front and tucks in very, very nicely no issues.

You will get me into more trouble with Callooker than before if there was a narrowed beam in there........LOL!!

Thanks been trying to emulate some of the American VW's and I see no shame in that....and agreed....it is tough to find tires that matches the old tire look from the 60 and 70's. Coker tires in America have stunning tires, but the prices are just as stunning.....

Do you have wheels and tires in mind for your 62 so far?
