I am looking to put on a decent performance exhaust...
It must have two pipes that exit the std exhaust holes in her body..
I want a decent throaty sounding exhaust .. Any suggestions?
As Tony Z said....................

IF you get one, REMEMBER to drill the manifold heating holes open, , one must be bigger then the other, or your fuel will freeze on its way to the heads.

My oil can 1 web.jpg
Hi

Did a little DIY fabrication today and built a alu custom oil catch tank - complete with a Wolfsburg logo on top..

went to paint shop and got my Jade green/blue mixed up ----

Went to check on the Beetle -- BODY PREP PROGRESS
all rust is gone - cut and weld etc... done now the smoothing of little nicks etc is in progress ...
All -- to get ready for the new paint on SAT..

I collected some more bits - incl new door & bonnet lid rubbers--- still looking for boot lid rubber...
found a decent rear seat in black - so wont need to recover my seat -- they now for sale with the front seats
Collected new exhaust ---
now the excitement to get the engine out - is growing

Just fitted that exhaust to my Ghia , also 1300 , sounds good and seems to have more grunt, however this probably in my head and as a result of all the work done on the motor

The exhausts should make a little more power , being made to breath easier ...
Almost free flow....
I hope the exhaust does sound good, on my bug...

Flatting of undercoat and 3 top coats over the weekend went well -- we let BUG STAND for 48 hours to let 2K set and be ready for final body prep and finishing...
Now in next days Panel Shop is flatting top coat and prepping her for final shine..
Then we go to next stage of rebuilding the Bug --during this phase we fit :
New door rubbers, new bonnet & engine bay rubbers, new bonnet handle and latch...
New running boards, new back light lenses, new front lights and chrome covers -
New indicators, newly repainted bumpers, new tyres and mages --- ,...
New front sports seats, new carpets ... new roof lining and refurbished back seat ----
And new interior door and back side interior panels and new window winders ---
Basically we have a new Beetle shell and interior --
still need to fit new indicator stalk and new steering wheel...
Still need to do engine and final wiring

The wheels were a must when I thought about how the motor was going to look
I'm going for clean white with blue ... And finished with the EMPI GT exhaust to work with the EMPI wheels
