quick update, my bus is going in tomorrow to get the motor done and the whole front suspension rebuild.
After that the side windows must be removed and refitted, can't open at the moment, wrong rubbers were fitted.
Then she's of to surgery for some body work, gonna fix the bump in the back and repaint where needed.

OK, the egine is still in good shape, no need to redone or replace it, just a good service.
Steering have play, front and back suspension will all be replaced.
Decided to redo the whole body, repair rust and respray.
Found some interior parts that's missing at Volksie World in Cape Town.
Things are moving along for now, will keep you updated.

Hi Herman, would love to go to George but don't think the bus will be finished by then. Still waiting for spares ordered to finish the suspension and steering then all the body work needs to be done and resprayed. Will join you on the next trip when she is running again, it will be FUN!
Stuart, we are in the southern part of Pretoria, Wonderboom.

Hi all,
Went to have a peep at how things are movimg along with my beloved bus.
Good news, suspension is also in very good condition, steering will be removed and then custom made spares fitted.
Wheelbearings front is 'moeg' and is in the prosess of being replaced, waiting for some oil seals.
Will visit her again in couple of weeks to check on the progress and bring you up to date.

Nice progress Priscilla, what custom made spares are being fitted to the suspension, all you need should be available ? Ask the mechanic to explain what he means, we could perhaps source correct and original parts for him - (perhaps also cheaper and safer.....)

Hi all, here is an update on the past two weeks.
Engine is out.
The covers around the engine are going to be powder coated.

]
New 'plumbing system', old exhaust is nearly rusted away.
This coming week the clutch will be checked, the distributor turned 180 deg, engine and carburator serviced.
Will update you again later next week.
Cherio.

The covers on and around the engine were all taken to be sandblasted, gonna fix the cracks and dents then off to powder coaters.
Everthing will be coated black except the tappet covers (silver) and the big engine covers (red).
Will post pic when it's done.

That exhaust is noisy as hell MUCH louder than the stock setup.
