hi there,

I saw you in Boksburg a few weeks ago, Rondebult road. my heart stopped for a few seconds.
sorry to hear you had engine trouble!

I'm glad you giving the blue bug the attention she needs - there is a lot of small things that need attention, but hey, at least you can drive her while restoring her!

i think i will always miss that beetle.

Good job on the bumper!! and i like your son's aircooled collection!

enjoy her!!

Howzit!

Yup the motor was a bit of a bummer( no December driving for me! ), saw when the head was off it had a real dodgy inset job done on it years ago!
But like the machanic said: The bad news is the head is shot, and the good news is we can do it right this time! :D
Still feel bad for your wife, she was not happy to see the Bug go! :(

What a difference! :D
Just set the euro style lights in the Bug! :D :D :D
What a difference compared to the sealed beam lights!
Day and night difference!
And they even look cooler! :hangloose:
No fear of the dark any more! :flash:

I found a little problem on my Bug and can't find an answer on the all mighty Google!
Filled the tank up to the brim before the petrol price "adjustment"
I noticed that there is fuel leaking where the fuel gauge mechanism fits into the tank!
Was a very pleasant drive with all those fumes in the car! :drunks:
Does anyone have any info/advice on fixing the leak? :zhelp:
Yes I could leave it like that and enjoy the "TRIP"!

WTF! :?
I replaced a broken hand brake cable, well both while I had the tools out.
And now the brakes are all spongy!
Does not make sence, did now touch the brake settings :!:
Anyone have an idea why? :zhelp:

was thinking that the old hand brake cables were pre-tensioning the shoes, so when i replaced them the pistons had more movement if that is possable!
Had to adjust the shoes quite a bit!
Have killer brakes now! :D
