I had to cut the body in half because of the proportion of the talon are different from the buggy.
The Talon is square and the buggy body is narrow in the front and wide in the back.
I will have to widen the front and narrow the back of the body.
It looks like half a car for now.
Next more fabrication.
dsmbuggy wrote:Thanks for the support.
I need it to keep going.
This weekend I did some welding and patching around the chassis.
No very exciting, but my friend Tango took some cool pictures...
Yes, I weld in shorts and T-shirt...
dsmbuggy wrote:I still working on the positioning of the body to get the best stance possible without cutting it in 15 pieces.gr8cobbler wrote:The stance is going to be pretty good. Not sure about lifting the front of the body as previously suggested. I think the "buggy" needs the straight part over the rear wheels parallel to the ground or slightly up in the rear to look right. It seems to slope down toward the rear a bit. May just be the way you had to rest it for the photo.
Any thought to the rear body treatment? Normally contains the cool exposed VW engine, I’m sure you have something cool in mind to treat/cover/trick out the radiator?
The rear treatment comes next.
A rear mounted rad for better weight distribution.(and I have no room in the front...)
First positioning.
fabrication of the rad support/bumper.

Ready to go
Here you go, this is what people are gonna see the most.
dsmbuggy wrote:I spent some more time doing some body fitting.
It starts to look like something.
I am planning on having separated aluminum sides.
I want to be able to remove the fiberglass fender easily and then drive the car "naked" at the track.

dsmbuggy wrote:Little update.
Work has been slowing down (wife and kids are back)
I have been doing some more body work and welded the body mounts.
I have been inspired by the way RC cars body are mounted.
Because I like the way the car looks without the body, I want to be able to remove it and drive without it.
