Excellent find.

Now for the trick questions:

Obviously the car did not come from VWSA.

So, Has it got discs and balljoint suspension up front? Has it got swingarm or IRS in the rear? The flat hubcaps makes me think that it might have.

Thanks J.

Yip not from SA, tag says made in Germany, also in MPH so dont think so.

I think it does, I only collected it on Sat so did not get a chance to check. Yes it has IRS in the rears. Any advantages of having these?

You lucky dog.

Get that car running ASAP and you will appreciate the advantages of the IRS and balljoint suspension. Its nothing like you're used to with swingarms and K&L.

Thanks, I am looking forward to it...I went to locksmith yesterday, I just need to remove the one door handle and see if he makes the key and it works in the ignition as well or else I will need to take the ignition as well. Once done car starts fine, just need to do the automatic solenoid and see what it was not moving after going into gear then some cleaning up and ready to roll.....

Great Find - you're a lucky guy !! Just needs a roof rack and maybe a little lowering and then ready to roll (i.e. bring it on some cruises  )

Guys Beetle is up for sale, I found a very neat 1965 which will be a perfect earlier model for me...

I am willing to let go for what I paid, car is running 100%, will need a service though.

Let me know...

How much did you pay?
The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.

I was looking at a very similar car in sinoville about 8-9 years ago. Looked identical as well as being an auto....................could possibly be the same one.
