Aircooled VW South Africa

When I saw this picture for the first time, in one of my VW books, I wanted an Early Bay Westy. I was gonna make just as this one.



got the color, had a panel sprayed but the finished product was not to my liking. I wanted a VW color but it had to be different. I then decided on Oman Beige. See for yourself.

















Once the car is home, the first thing you should always do is fit the badge. It's a sign of progress

After this, rather uncalled for jinx, I am happy to announce some progress was made....only 25 odd months down the line!!!
I cannot believe it's been that long...this is supposed to happen only when you're having fun. Be that as it may, got it back from upholsterer and here's some pics.













Now I just want to fit all the windows and sort the brakes...maybe some disks...and then decide what mill I'll be fitting.
Try to keep an eye on this one over the next year or two
