Allows for the flow of the nice hot engine air to be sent to the front for your interior heating....Just make sure that the piping is good all along the underside. I have to remake "MO"s from rear all the way to the front. Still trying to find the stupid cable that she needs to open the flaps in the exhaust for the hole lot to work

THE Fig used scotchbrite pads and alot of elbow grease to remove some unwanted paint off of his 57 kombi

Some updated pics.
Some dumb ass cut the chunk out of the passenger door.... wonder why?
Front stripped, gonna try get the bumper off this wkend.
Reason im gonna get the wiring re-done. I mean check the quality insulation.
Rust by the back window.... shall attack that with a wire brush etc once i remove the window.
Roof lining stripped.
Back seat taken out.
See what happens to windscreen rubbers when they arent loved.
Front stripped. all thats left to take out is the dashboard.

Got a long weekend this weekend so hopefully get some more done... but gotta put a computer together for the fiancée before she cuts off the you know whats

That dash looks great. Is that rev counter standard equipment? Wouldn't mind one of those

@ beetlefanatic i have no idea if the rev counter was standard. it was there when i got the DC so im presuming so. I'm new to the VW family and history...... maybe someone with more info could enlighten us?

Veglia Borletti gauges are normally fitted to Italian cars - FIAT, Alfa, Lancia, Ferrari, Lamborghini although the Mercedes A-Class and Smart also have them. That tach is most probably from an Alfa, but it does not look out of place in a Bus at all
