The radiator get a house in the bonnet where the Spare wheel used to live
Mostly when you fit a rotary you upgeade the brakes and then use the 100 PCD Golf rims so you then fina a Marie buscuit spare wheel and it lay flat on the fuel tank
As I mentioned before this conversion has been done by the PO and I am building a Rhino casing tranny for the bug,and cleaning alot of the things up at the back
So unfortunately the bonnet has already been cut this was the reason why I was looking for a S bonnet. But the new owner does not want to change all of that at this stage
One can fit the radiator in front with out cutting the bonnet open
Here is a picture of my Cabriolet with the Radiator fitted in the front
I use a heavy duty convyor belt and mount it at a angle to act as a scoop and the faster you go the more it bends down and scoop more air in to the Radiator
Works brilliantly I have also cut the Bonnet to Pieces once on my first Rotary bug

This was my Leathal Beetle with a 2.5 WBX Oettinger motor in with the Radiator in front

The time 1993 I had Leathal Beetle was Opel Super Boss time and the Super bosses did around Believe it on not only 16Sec and my Bug did a 14.7 Sec on the Qoter so it was Leathal that was where the name Came from and the Movie Leathal Weapon

Have done some more work to the Bug
Spray some Cleare cote over the Stone chip it makes it so easy to clean with the clear over

This is some of the motor bits that I have also colour coded and finished off with clear coate
over everything and as you can see the clear brightens the colour up really nice

That looks great Pierre. I'm wondering more and more if I shouldn't put a standard rotary turbo in the cabrio. That orange bug goes like hell.

Now that is entirely your own decision

Ok the transmission is finaly built and assembled with the axles and covers on ready for installation
I should be installing the tranny tommorrow and assemble the Motor with the new turbo Upgrade that is going to make some good HP numbers for a stock motor

One nice headace is doing the wiring over that is a real mess in this bug but I have the Wiring diaghram for the Microtech EFI system so that is not going to slow m down at all

Wanted to fit the 2700 Pound presure plate and copper clutch ans a nice surprise puped up after I removed the std set up
The fly wheel was machined like a front disc to prevent Glasing but the Idea was taken a bit out of porporsion had to get a new flywheel machined and ground to the right dept for the copper clutch to work with the pressure plate
1864- (Small).JPG
The kitt to the left was removed from the Bug
The centre one is the 2700 Lbs kitt that is going in to the bug
The kitt to the right with the yellow pressure plate is the 228mm WBX clutch set up.The pressure plate Diaphrame clamping point is moved and clamps nearly as much pressure as a Double Diaphrame pressure plate but it is still much sifter than a Double one
The 228mm Clutch plate is also Bonded and riveted to prevent the lining comming lose from the centre with the extra pressure from the stronger pressure plate
1884- (Small).JPG
Here is a picture of how a Counter weight looks like. These counter weights has to be used when fitting a RX in to a Beetle and they come off the Automatic transmission motors. The std 13Bt flywheel has a counter weight cast in to the fly wheel and can not be used as is as the starter teeth differ
1895- (Small).JPG
Buzy tightening up the pressure plate after the new Flywheel is installed and using the Flywheel lock to hold the flywheel tight
the upgrade turbo is fitted and most of the smaller cosmetics to the motor nearly ready to install
