Re: A Rhino is being Born
I do not know what happend to the rest of the post
Hy is gesteel
I have a mix of Costic soda that I leave the trannies in after I have taken most of the "GHRIES" and slug off it on the out side.THen I also first clean off most of the Old Gear oil that has made a slug on the inside of the casing, other wise the Coda gets to contaminated with all the Oily things in the tank
I leave it to soak there for half a day and then IT gets the Steel brush and Elbo ghries job to get it looking like nae
If The Casings were painted by 2K Paint then it is nearly 3 days hard graft to get it clean with the help of Paint stripper and lots of swearring the guy who painted it
I will only be getting back some of the machining on Monday
But I might be starting to assemble the Main shaft and Pinnion Shafts in the mean while if I get around to it this week end and take some more interresting Pics of that

Re: A Rhino is being Born
it is a stronger than stock case... called rhino because thats how CB markets it (as in their catalog), all their heavy duty items are called "Rhino this" or "Rhino that"

Re: A Rhino is being Born
Ok time for a update
The pic below
!st gear to the left then to the right of 1 you guesst right 2nd then 3de and 4th gear.
With their respective Syncros to the bottom of all the gears with the Mainshaft above all the gears and the reverse gear
I have managed to source VW Brazilia Syncros for 1st 3de&4th gears the syncro for 2nd is a German Quality that is Quite Scares. You can see the colour differance and tags on the outer edges
These main shafts are really strong and durable, I have had a set in Flag buggy and did Reverse 1st gear wheelies with Mickey thompson Drag slicks.Aswell as very hard launches from the line at Tarlton.
On the Performance Transmissions I also replace the Copper type selector forks to the Steel type selector forks
Ihad one guy that brought me 3 transmissions to repair and all 3 of them had the copper forks been broken with other faults
These are the old 4 bolt type Pinnion roller bearings which are nearly henns teeth to source new German Quality ones. With the Mainshaft bearing to the top of it
Picture of the inner Casing where the Pinnion Bearing goes
