exactly what im looking for how many doctors kids in there $250k cars are expecting an old beetle to be faster than theres i got 5 or so more you cant do it replies on another forum so im really getting motivated to do this thanks again for the help guys

oh i didnt mean use the motor just was wondering if the transmission could be bolted in to a bug or easily adapted then have the little subie bolted on to that o thought maybe if i used a transmission that was made for a 600hp v8 it would be overkill enough for a daily driver

short of building your own car on a tube chassis and simply putting a beetle body onto it, the only gearbox that fits inside a bug is the bug box.

You;ll have to get a fully beefed up gbox from someone like Rancho.
One thing you might want to consider.... with the power you will be using, you can use a stock weight flywheel instead of lightening it. Yes, this will reduce your acceleration time a ball hair, but the heavier flywheel will want to slip the clutch slightly linger during heavy engagement which will extend the life of your gearbox dramtaically - assuming that its power that will break the gbox, not wheel hop or driver abuse.

ok i gues ill stick with a normal tranny and if some thing does break it will probly be from driver abuse i hate to say but thats probly what it will be gues ill just have to fix what ever breaks

a normal tranny, as is stock and unmodified will break in seconds under that power. 150hp is about the limit for a stock box and even then, it wont last long.

Jeff i think you have to get the bura motor in there first get everything sorted on the car handelingwise,cause even a stock turbo bura motor will pull very and i mean very hard in a bug...sort all the glitches that occur with the stock motor and then to extract more power from that motor cant be hard ie.bigger turbo,bigger intercooler ect..There is a speedster on here that has one in fairly stock and he sais he killed a m5 the other day... Look for it in projects section you cpuld get some tips there...

thats kinda what i had planned put every thing to gether have all the drive train ready to handle a bunch of power drive it for a little bit change what needs to be changed then start adding more go

Subaru conversion is very common. Google it. There are kits available.

Just remember in the states he will probably buy a beetle with IRS suspension then there are alot of different things to get to make this setup as close to reliable as possible 930 Porsche cv vlanges + cv joints and Chrome molly shafts after market everything then just go out and buy a mendeola box that is what the Guys use running the Corvett motors a mendeola is I could be wrong $15000 but the right thing to get
