As some of you know I relocated from Gauteng to the Southcoast just over a year ago now , and havent really had space or time to work on my cars also a lack of garages at the new house forced me sell my beloved 58" "Suckerpunch" .I have however enjoyed driving my bus whenever I can ! The bus has been running sweet with the coastal air giving me the incentive to turn up the boost and scare the snot outta every so called hot hatch that happens to underestimate that "old hippie combi" .As with all conversions this has been a learning curve with cooling , turbo issues ect .The spirited driving has now resulted in the clutch slipping when boosting and time has come for a clutch upgrade

. The bus is currently running a 200mm flywheel with 1700 pound Kennedy pressure plate and "ceramic" plate.
I am thinking of upgrading to a 2300 pound p/plate and this means also changing from a cable to hydraulic clutch, I also have to have the turbo rebuild as a oil
return issue I had is now causing it to smoke .Good news is I have had some time to unpack most of my tools and upgrade my workspace situation so i am excited to get it sorted , will post pics as it happens !

Hi Jacques you can save yourself a lot of grief by fitting a pulley system rather than a hydraulic clutch, I did it for a buddy with a bad hip on his buggy. Pedal is lighter than any of his modern cars, supper light.
something like this

I also removed the return spring on the arm and the pulley got a bearing, very simple & effective.

Hi Rui , that looks interesting , do you know if this is available locally ? I was thinking of using t3 master and slave , if you have a issue with the EMPI stuff you are kinda stuck as supply is not always guaranteed, your thoughts on using T3 ?
