And then there were 4
Actualy 2 complete
Image

Well jet again learning as I go
Sand blasting has revealed something
These popout frames are reverseable ie top can be bottom and inside can be outside
After blasting saw that 2 of the latch areas were different
One on the left is brazed on and the other is spot welded

Image

so chose the best other latch one heated it up and took off the latch so now it will be a hinge side
Even managed to get both with a drain hole on the bottom !!!

Jeeeeseee time is flying
Need to get back onto this project
Made a Bomb

Made a bath
Image

After a recient trip to Barrydale we found the 5th rim

Image

Must admit that the Molasses bath works wonders for the rusty bits
currently have the other 4 rims soaking
been pressure washed 2 after a 2 week soak - will still need more time in the solution
Very soft way of doing rust removal - thanks Bruce

put an air nozzle into the bath and open it slightly. The air bubble agitate things and give you better cleaning in less time.

At least with the molasses the parts look sweet
Have you found out how to get the brownish molasses stain off. I struggle.
Where did you get the split box G/Box gasket set ? I have been after one for ages.

Been away from this for a while again
Do not fear the project is still on the go
Work has had me a wee bit busy for the last while
Strike actions - blossom period etc

Here some pics of the engine tin after a bath
This stuff came out real clean
Topped up the bath with another drum of mollasses

Still no word from image shack re my deleted photies - what a pity
Maybe when this project really gets into gear I will search the pc and upload the relevant pics again

I was waiting for that

Seems you 2 lads are ganging up on me
Heres the plan
Sean takes 2 months to get bus going
Sean and Paul take 1 month to get bus going
Sean Paul and Warwick take 1 week to get bus going
Hopefully that young man from PE will join in after his 2 busses fo the show are done

If this all happens we will need but just a few days

Jokes aside
Will be rollin the Manx off floor shortly so then the work can begin
Will be no holidays for me as we work right thru
getting new tjooks on the 17th and 24th

 HE'S BACK !!!!!!!!

Hey there buddy, what's with this NOT posting thing :?: NO pictures, and those that you DO post, no show

Now all you have to do is get Sean & Paul's backsides into gear, have them over for a weekend, make a braai - AFTER they have been loyal slaves, and you will be ready to roll to George

Good luck with getting the Manx done - I want to go for a drive through the orchards PLEEEEEASE :D

NOW GET MOVING

:flash:
My rides - 58, 62, 63 & 70 Beetles also 58 Karman Ghia
