Started with the notch again. Painted the floor in ns4 and stripped the rear fenders to do the samE
When they resprayed the notch they never took the fenders off... so needs a bit of treatment on the body and inside fenders. Will do the same on the front fenders this weekend: )

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Thanks Jolas. So I started again around 1pm today. Fitted the rear fenders and redid the holes for the side trim.

I do however want to get a new sealing rubbers on the bottom and top of the fender. Seems 50+ years of mud and stones semi destroyed the rubber. The top ones was replaced but its cheap poorly cut rubber.

Then started with the front fenders.

Holy crap there are a 1000000 bolts to undo the front fenders Image haha. Also had to take the light fitting apart and turn signal. after all that I was left with this...

Rubberized insides with a bit of rust at the bottom heater channel.

don't think ill have to repaint this so will just clean the fenders inside and give it a new coat of ns4. Then I also need to get a rubber seal for the top of the fender by the door and by the front bumper.

Thinking about it now... I should take a pic of the wires before I remove the right hand side light...

Well laters!

Ok so took the other fender off too and same deal. Looks alright. Just rust on the bottom corner by the door. are these heater channels replaceable? As I see myself needing to do so in the near future.

Tomorrow I'll be tackling the doors and roll out the motor for a good clean.

So been lazy..
Never rolled out the motor, but did do the doors on the inside. Just to help them not to rust. Still need to do the heater channels. Then ill put it all back together. would actually really like to redo all the wiring but that's a job for another day.

This weekend, if the weathers good, I'll be cleaning the motor. I need to still get all the needed bits before I put it back. Once the motor is in I'll start on the brake system.

At least built this:

Anyhow... laters

Nice work

Reminds me of when I got The Rat from Dixon. I also took all the fenders off and gave them a good coating of Rust-Tec ( an excellent product that we sell)
I never bothered to replace the fender weld that I removed.

Just wish my pc at work would allow me to post pics of my Spyder build then I would start a project thread.

Awesome. And rust-tec? What is that?

Also fender weld?

The heater channels, what can I do to fix them? As they are quite rusted at the tips and I'm some places at the bottom.

Rust-Tec is a product that we sell,it is an industrial rust inhibitor, ie stops rust, does not convert it.

That is the job of the other product that we sell known as Trans-Tec, an industrial rust convertor.

Fender weld is that "plastic beading" between the fenders and the body I was thinking of using that you get from Pro Auto rubber.

all good! Lemme know when you are ready!

Ok. So month end I want to get new rubbers for the doors, bonnet, boot and fenders, as well as the window 'channels'. will pro auto do all off these? Also I don't have any samples, so might need to ask for some help. As I'm sure someone here should be able to help?
