Hey airheads. Here are a few images to update you guys on the progress of my build. I have been re upholstering the interior. The new vinyl is MUCH better than the stuff I used the first time. It's easier to work over compound curves and looks amazing. You can't tell in the pics but it is a very dark brown with a defined leather texture which shows up on the curves beautifully and sits my exterior colour very well.
So far I have re-covered the dash and door cards. I still need to tweek the fit of the eyebrow a little. I put too much padding on the dash pads so it's not fitting as well as it did the 1st time. Easy fix though. The seats are coming along. I must give a HUGE shout out to Anton Decker from Exclusive Conversions for making the best replica seats in SA. I can recomend these to anyone thinking about investing in a set. Uncovered they appear quite similar to the KCC seats. (To the point where my dad had a comment about not seeing the diffs and me wasting money etc. bla bla...) When they are covered. .. WOW, the subtlety in the curves of the original seat is all there. It's really great to see it taking shape in front of you while working.
Also in there is a pic showing the state of my filthy Dells. I am rebuilding them in between everything else. So far I have found that the idle jets were all completely blocked. Hopefully the car will actually idle when I put them all back together. Oh and for those of you thinking about playing with your carbs but are afraid to F everything up. Search for EZGZ on YouTube. He has some great videos that explain a lot. You can read every manual in the world but it doesn't hold a candle to a good 5 min video on the subject.

Silence before the storm, you have been busy, Wow! your car is really awesome.
Who supplied your seat padding ?
I concur the 356 bucket seats that Anton manufactures is an excellent reproduction, Anton also has now the correct lower seat mounts if anyone is interested.

Hey Manny
The seat foam is from MyFo in Edenvale. Cut from the same templates I used the first time round. Well, almost the same, small mods here and there.
Thanks for the compliment

just trying to keep up with you

Really nice job on the upholstery.
Have you carpeted the back of the seat?

Hey Manny, Nope haven't begun carpeting yet. I first need to source some decent carpet and then finish off some details around the pedals before I can begin making templates for the carpet.
