It was a very tight squeeze to get them in and the holes to align with the axles, but saying that its the first time that I have ever removed the spring plates and axles off of a car.
I have notched spring plates with the "spacer" welded in. With the spring plate in the original position it should give me a 3.5" drop at the back without using splines of the torsion bars, difficult to see from these pics:

Got the rear wheels on yesterday and lowered it with one outer spline
Have to sort out the electrics, seats and finish off the interior panels,

Almost ready, had to redo the wiring and now trying to sort out the braking issues
Also cant find the right length shocks for the rear,
Open: 330mm
Closed:230mm
Stroke:100mm
Yes HR my dad showed that nut the grinder, but it did put up a fight. Always funny seeing my dad struggle with something on the bus and end up saying: " F%^*@g german piece of sh^&
Somedays I think my dad gets a bigger kick out of these busses than I do

No, I think its still far from done.
Still some wiring issues, the engine cut out twice
And I definitely need a new steering box, the play on that thing is unbelievable
Just waiting for the master cylinder from Calooker, I dont have much braking either
From the front the people point and smile
From the rear the people gave me the finger

Wheel alignment question:
How do I straighten up the rear wheels ?
At the moment the drivers side rear is very skew, the passenger side is ok
The wheel cant go back anymore on the springplates so I'm stuck with something like this:
