Hate to say it, i find rugby rather boring..

now football, (hello Arsenal) is another story. Living down the road from Highbury and being a season ticket holder, well..

Bloody plastic man u supporters!

Beetle related, the drums arrived and i whipped them up to the guys helping me out fitting them. Turns out the rear ones are a little short, now volkspares said they are correct so i'm not sure what's going on.

Meh

At some point during the past 50 years, someone decided to remove the engine/gearbox and anything else that came with the car and add something new. The rear drums are indeed the wider ones, so the freshly delivered slimmer drums from Volkspares are being returned tomorrow and a new wide set being sent. R800 bucks worth of courier charges, annoying but what's a man and his dog going to do?

This actually means I can play around with the engine/box now as it's not original. No biggy

Went up to VW here in Umhlanga to try and get a valuation. The gentleman, and I will loosely call him that, looked at me in disgust and said the car was possibly worth 2k. "Those older cars should just be scrapped, it's silly to even drive one around" was the response.

This from the same company that has been selling the shit that is the citi golf for decades now.

This is going to be a bitch, I can tell

Lemme guess, some yuppie younger guy, thats "Styling" with his designer haircut and shoes, that rather drive a gee tee haaibo, Maybe try a less metropolitan dealership and an older vw exec.
Note, I am one of the younger generation.

Any good registered valuer should be able to do it? For a small fee?

One of my clients happens to be one of the above mentioned, and he also has a soft spot for older cars, did the valuation for me with one of my previous beetles. Checked the car, took some pictures, checked up with some of his own contacts, and gave me a pretty fair price I thought.
