Moved exhaust that was touching and causing noise and vibration, adjusted clutch cable(was releasing too high),adjusted steering play(major improvement), adjusted brakes all round, adjusted rear suspension spring plate(was a bit lopsided) and tightened front wheel bearings. Gave her a wash and took her for a lekka spin.

Re: What did you do on your car today?
The SC whent for a nice long drive for the first time since fitting the 1835 motor, pulling like a steam train, carbs sorted, need to sort out a miss over 4500 RPM started by changingh the dizzy, miss still there, will swop things one at a time. I then loadded him up with a lot of scrap I had lying around, and filled the tank with the R420 I got for the scrap, ready for another test run to sort out the missing.
For what it's worth, ignorance has no limits ......

Cleaned up some stuff that had been nagging me for ages and got him ready for the final push to get the electrical stuff sorted and the LED back lighting done.
Then took him out and beat him like a red-headed step child.

Whoopee picked up the bug after some fine tuning by Johan @vdubtech going like a bomb with a new condenser and some oil drips sorted. Took her for some hill climbs in the area for comparative testing and wow what a difference , highway cruse between e toll gantries London rd to links field saw me cruising at 60mph at 3000 rpm .
Nice work guys

Took some fellow VW enthusiasts for a spin and opened her up a bit running out of numbers on the speedo before changing to 4th. They couldn't believe a Beetle can do that!

Re: What did you do on your car today?
Actually yesterday. Started with a handbrake problem and ended up replacing rear wheel cylinder rubbers, front flexi hoses, front wheel bearings, brake light switch rear axle/drive shaft boot and adjusted spring plate again, found I could tilt my steering wheel a bit(now I can see my speedo) and fitted a window washer bottle. A wash and polish and me and wifey went for coffee at the beach.

Jumped into old Fugly, turned the key, and she started on the 1st swing......then reversed it in line with my Isuzu 300lx, and proceeded to jump start the Isuzu, which again would not start in this cold weather......

Re: What did you do on your car today?
After 3 Months, I managed to drive the Porsche this morning to my Carpet man.. nearing the end of his rebuild, so for the next week, getting all the carpets done as best as possible. Must say, the ride was MUCH better this morning as I followed Tony's advice and let out a lot of air to help smoothen out the ride. Was a lot better. Will post Pics on my own blog of the finished results, then it's justt he roof and it's more or less done.
