Experts please....... :zhelp:

So for my beetle......Model 114 = Deluxe 2 door sedan RHD, Serial number 5390487 = March 1963 :D

PO Number = 5 14 65? Paint Code = B?

So how do I find out the original outside colour? Is the only way to get a birth certificate from Wolfsburg?

Hi Dutch,

Dont know if these sites will help, at least it will give the colour combinations:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/inf ... stype1.php
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit ... colors.php

From here, however, it looks like "B" is a mystery ...

OK...so the time has come. Tonight was the first time I became really dirty working on "BB". The work is starting and tonight job was to take the gearbox that Chris delivered, take off the axles (thanks Bugger for the help on the phone....it worked in the end) and wrap it up for being dropped at HR's house tomorrow for the trip to Bugger's castle in JBG.

So the first decision has been made.....the gearbox is going to be BUGGERED!!!!!! :hangloose:

The second decision has also been made. Because I can't work out the exact colour..."BB" is going to become Polar Silver so she will be getting a new name later in the build. Ideas welcome. I know that this colour was only between Feb 55 to July 57 but it looks amazing. Sorry

I'm also going to leave the standard wheel but can anyone tell me if you can fit front disks and still use the 205/5 wheels?

3rd decision is that the interior is going to be red leather with deep red carpet that will be made exactly as the original with the silver beading and piping added. I've even found someone to do.

And lastly, the car will be heading to the shop this week coming so some more pics for this thread. :puterwork:

Need a chromers in Cape Town next so that I can start to drop off everything as I want it all stripped and rechromed to new!
