I "THIRD" that - don't let the one person's lack of respect and admiration spoil it for the rest of us.

Cheers,
Marius.

Agree.
A forum is there to ask questions! That's how all of us learn, even the ones making the crappy comments had to ask questions at some stage. So keep on posting in this thread as you go along.

HI ALAN.

FIRSTLY; WE DON'T KNOW EACH OTHER AND I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE VEHICLE YOU ARE WORKING ON,BUT I WANT TO JUST MENTION ONE THING.
MY DAUGHTER AND I HAVE HAD SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING SUPPORT FROM SOME OF THE GUYS ON THIS FORUM.
YES, WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME OF THE AGGRO AND THE NEGATIVE AND YES AT ONE STAGE ONE OF OUR POSTS WAS BLOCKED BECAUSE THINGS GOT A LITTLE OUT OF HAND.
ALL I DID WAS STOP POSTING FOR A WHILE.
I THINK THAT SOMETIMES THINGS ARE TAKEN EITHER TOO SERIOUSLY OR JUST OUT OF CONTEXT AND SOMETIMES PEOPLE FORGET THAT NOT EVERYONE IS AT THE SAME LEVEL.
KEEP THE POSTS COMING. I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE CAN LEARN FROM EVERYONE .
YOU NEVER KNOW.....ONE DAY YOU MIGHT JUST BE 'THE MAN' FOR SOMEONE OUT THERE.

BY THE WAY, I LOVE THOSE LENSES. YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE SOME TALENT!

GOOD LUCK.

MARK & Cyndi

Ja, MARK, you've been found out, clearly you do know where the CAPS lock key is, hahaha!!!

I don't know what came over Sean, he is usually super nice and very helpful. Maybe he was doing his tax return or something...

Hey,
thanks Porsche boys..

Mark, thanks. I agree, there's a GREAT bunch of members and enthusiasts here who are all massively forthcoming and open to help and assist others, which is what a Forum's supposed to be. Unfortunately, 2 people (well 1, but with a bit of "group mob" mentality more joined in) and kind of ruined the experience purely because of really Windgat attitudes, something I liken to our overly bearing American friends.

I've learnt my lesson tho, if thats what it was meant to be, the newbie has been put in his place, if it makes him\them feel more manly, I'm happy for them all. Whatever blows their hair back you know. I'm certain I could share a lot more and contribute to this, our own air cooled forum, I've always done so in previous projects and hobbies and ended up being a major contributor, but we'll see. I've got into personal contact with the other Speedster enthusiasts on here and we'll correspond in private and not in the public space.

So for now, all good. I'll post some pics now and then and hopefully it doesn't piss off any Bus Mechanics or accountants.

Mark, hope you guys get to the bottom of that engine\oil issue, sorry your trip didn't reach completition this time round, but maybe sometime in the future. Ride safe out there guys, and hope you all have a GREAT 2014.

Regards

Alan

I dunno why Sean thought that he needs to put someone in his place. But that's not the way that things happen here.

I for one am surprised that he hasn't chimed in yet to say sorry, he could of had a bad day, or he could of just decided to be a d**k. Who knows?

I JUST received my Hex bar Linkage from the UK.. Opened naturally, thanks to SA GUVNMUNT and customs monkeys.. Thankfully it's all here, but the packet's got the hex bar just sliding right through it!! Amazed it even arrived with the rest of the packaging.
Twin Carbs in the next few weeks..

Andy, please keep gooiing the updates here - I like what you are doing to your car, mine still has a lot of little things to sort out, and by checking all the posts from the forum, I gather a combination of great ideas to implement on my car as well ... I'll be watching carefully when you do the Hex bar installation and get the dual carbs commissioned - I've got the same on the "spare/original" engine for my Speedster - which I want to install soon. I'm not sure if it is set properly, will fit it and find out.

Cheers,
M.

For me my tattered copy of How to hot rod VW engines say's it all:
"If you are the type of person who gets "all uptight" about the cost of anything whatsoever, don't go racing because your life will become just one miserable incident after another." The same can be said about old cars in general but more so for old VW's.

I have had the misfortune to battle with two cars equipped with ICT webers and must say If I had any choice at all they wont be it I would rather try my luck with worn out type3, SP or kombi carbs. but that's just me.

Don't worry about us because we lot are not the uptight crown no matter what our appearances say

Sh1t Armand, I certainly hope these aren't problematic Carbs.. I'll seriously flatten them with a BIG hammer if they cause kark..
Read a lot of stories about how simple and problem free they are, so, god help them, that's all I'm saying.
Should they need to be beaten flat for non-cooperation, I'll consider the 3 Grand I paid for them as a Xmas Pressie to their original owner.
Karma runs in circles of differing circumferences..
