And the sadness continues. Chris I don't know what to say anymore. There must be a silver lining somewhere, but then again this is Africa, South Africa, maybe somebody stole it.
Keep your chin up.......4RK, how many times have I said that, and it does'nt work. Maybe I must just shut up now.
Damn I feel useless down here.
I can't even hold thumbs anymore cos theres none left to hold.
You are a better man than I , I would BURN the @#$#$ nevermind sell it.
But definately before wasting more time and money on that vehicle, get the gearbox and whatever else checked out properly so it doesn't happen again. Maybe you'd make some money back by selling the thing as parts and then getting something else?
Thinking about it, it is just TOOOO strange having so many engines seize.
As a poor student who didn't have the cash for a new engine, I had a 1600 beetle that drank oil, but the engine just kept on going for a couple years till I saved enough to get a recon motor, if there was one motor that should have seized I would have thought it would be a great candidate.
It has to be some kind of heat issue, or so I thought until you put the toyota engine in there, but that was using a radiator, cancelling the heat issue, so my ACVW knowledge is tapped (not that there was much), but logic then points towards the drivetrain getting stressed somehow. Surely you would feel if the SC was slow or struggling to move though? What where you loading on there? Nothing that heavy I suppose?
All I can say is good luck, chin up as HR says. It can only get better from here on in!
Maybe we can send you flatfourfan's beetle engine to put in the buggy, can you tow the trailer with that?
Regarding the weight, Yes, 600kg's is nothing for a SC ??!! too strange...
