Hello From New User In England + IMPI T4 Cooling
Hi Folks,
I run a small engineering & fastener supply business in the UK - we sell into the old VW applications amongst other things.
Stainless Steel and HT (10:9 and 12:9) steel parts mostly - as well as clips clamps fuel line gaskets etc...oh, and electrical connectors + bits.
We've just finished a DTM conversion on our 1500 Bug. I'm interested in talking to Aramand about the IMPI system as there is a lack of affordable aftermarket cooling shrouds here in the UK for the T4 motor...I also have a couple of ideas that may help it along.
Our VW web-site is http://www.volksbolts.com

We do cover a niche area....and focus on quality....we've found that a lot of aftermarket stuff is rubbish when we come to use it.
We only sell things as tried and tested first of all.
I'll drop aramand a line to say hello.

I'm not sure if you South Africans have the same damp dirty road conditions that we have : we have to clean bits of squashed fox, horseshit and road grime / salt out of our arches quite regular to stave off the tin-worm.
The bolt on the left is stainless and is as-removed (2 years service) - a quick wipe later and it looks good and shiney again. Some pitting corrosion where the chromium has expended itself along the intergranular boundaries - looks better then a mild steel bolt and came out without the associated swearing or shearing.
If anything we've not put the time into explaining it fully...was busy designing parts for the Airbus A380 when we started the web-site.
I've been running aluminium bolts under the arches for a few years now with good results.

I might be wrong but I don't think the bolt on the left is stainless. It looks like the OEM bolts to me.
