Got the idea for the slashed sides from the AC/DC Razor's Edge album cover, as shown on the stub axle covers. Would have liked more alu-silver "exposed" under the red, but I got what I got and I think it looks OK. Next I'll put in the chrome surround on the vent levers, put in the old 6V radio, and hide a new music system in the cubby hole. Unfortunately, I will also put in a SP beetle console to put my cigarettes and cell phone. Mind you, I'm quiting smoking tomorrow, in fact, so just for the cell phone then... and the chewing gum...

AAARGHHH! Someone mentioned the number plate!!

I want an opinion... Do you guys think I should drop the front suspension a teensy weensy bit? Just so that the gap between the top of the tyre and the top of the wheel arch is the same front and back, or is it gonna make the car look weird? I have done the T3 selecta thing, and the forward crouch make it look weird there, but it might not on my car. Dropping the front is not a difficult job on a T3. What do you guys think?

Me? I think that the nose-up dont look too good. I personally find that weird. I think you should drop the front to at least bring the car level. IOW, close the gap between the front fender and the wheel/tyre. I think the car will look MUCH better that way. So go ahead and do it. If it doesnt look right for you, you can always put it back...

So am I! Dave Rowley also thinks I should drop the nose a bit, so for now you are in good company. Anyone who has ever driven one of these will know that it has a nose like a WW2 fighter plane anyway, so dropping it will make it drive better too. You just about get a cric-in-the-neck (name the movie) from craning to look over the bonnet...

After I saw the pics and then reading the different posts, I was thinking to myself that it will look a lot nicer with a bit of drop in the front. But it's your ride and as long as you are happy with it, it's cool.

I see that you have also used the Autogauge speedometer. Were there any issues connecting the cable to it?

I was supposed to use the same one like yours, but I will now be using a Porsche 924 speedometer

No, the issue was to connect the other end since the stub axle cap with the square hole didn't fit in the rim. Mechanicars made up a special one which fitted. We used a standard Beetle cable. Wile they are OK, I am not overly enthuzed with the Auto gauge clocks, I would have prefered VDO, Tom will be glad to hear. But after 4 years, I wanted my car back, so these things will come. Being a project car, she'll never be "finished". The gauges are fine for now.

Hi, no. I had new T3 pan halves welded in and they come without seat rails. The seats are simply bolted down with 4 bolts each. They are motorised on their own rails. They are very nifty, a flick of the switch this way and that, and you go up and down, forwards, backwards, whatever you fancy. But I must agree Eben, in the words of Captain Jack Sparrow, "You need to find yourself a girl, mate." Or a beer...
