I had the opportunity to visit the new Porsche Centre in Johannesburg (well, West Rand actually) today. I was speechless about what I saw there, although the words of Mephis Raines in 'Gone in 60 Seconds' came to mind:
I was greeted right at the main entrance by this GT3 Cup, with a price tag of R 2.5 million...Yes, yes yes... I saw three of these parked outside the local Starbucks this morning, which tells me only one thing. There's too many self-Indulgent wieners in this city with too much bloody money!
and another one
So I looked left
and I looked right
and I looked left again
In the corner you can build your own Porsche, with different finish, interior, wheels and accessories options - hmmmm, so what will it be?
The treat of the day was this Carrera GT in black - probably the only one ever to be in South Africa, since they are only available in LHD. I think this one is on loan from Stuttgart
Brand spanking NEW!!
Sexy assssss....
Mesh over engine
Headlights
Front intake in carbon fibre
Coffee and memorabilia shop (damn expensive!)
The theme of 'Baywatch' came to mind when I saw the Porsche Assist Cayenne
Some people stand in darkness. Afraid to step into the light.
Some people need to help somebody when the edge of surrender is in sight.
Don't you worry, it's going to be all right.
The service center:
Mid-engined Boxster without Box (Bugger??? )
...and even Stuttgart's finest got the odd Brannewynvlek or two
And then there are the corpses, covered for sensitive viewers
*moment of silence*
Inside the body shop - seems like the appies are enjoying their work (or was it just the camera?)
Sun bed - Porsche style
Tyre store - for a smooth ride go WIDE
Rewiring job
Flat-6 from below
As I was about to leave, this temptation caught my eye...
So, anyone got an idea what the Lotto numbers for Saturday are???
