Here's 2 beetle's with all the parts. You can make 1 od the 2. Car's are just outside Pretoria. I think they guy wants R 4500 this is his nr. Theo Stander 082 456 3726
I have concentrated on the better of the two (surface rust) and we’ll call this “Beetle 1”
I’ve had a better look at the stuff that came with the car and noticed the following:
Two Bosch headlights
Lots of trim
3 tailight housings (possibly 4)
Bumpers with overiders
Overriders separate
Glass
Beetle 1:
Still has rubber mats under the carpets
A bit of rust in the battery area, but not serious (in my opinion J)
The body work, fenders, boot & body in very good condition
There seems to be one door panel missing?
Still has starter attached to bell housing
Body numbers:
2875123 – SA number
2814622 – German number
35142 – S.A.M.A.D number
Paint code - W
Beetle 2:
There are extra LH front fenders( to replace the damaged one)
One extra LH rear fender
No seats
Floor looks good in battery area
Floor damaged in passenger (LH) footwell area (obviously from the accident) – can be repaired
Body numbers:
3055087 – SA number
3055087– German number
38137 – S.A.M.A.D number
Paint code - Z

Re: Classic VW Beetle wanted for restoration- PLEASE
Hi All,
I when and had a look at the 2 beetles.
There are no papers for either of the vehicles
Surface rust on the 1 beetle is very prominent with allot of pitting, the body will need a lot of work as there is a lot of rust on the body in the wheel wells and door post.
Second Beetle the most complete one has had quite a hard shunt on the left-hand side pushing the firewall true into the drivers cab.
All the class and spares are there.
No engines in either vehicle.
Owner would like to get rid of the 2 beetles as a whole and or strip for spares if a group is interested in stripping and removing form his premises.
Cheers

Re: Classic VW Beetle wanted for restoration- PLEASE
What does your budget permit and what exactly do you expect for that ?
There have been lots of old bugs on offer in all states of condition but none seem to meet your expectation !

65bug,
How much do you want to spend? Your budget dictates what you can get!!!!!
One of the guys here had that '59 Beetle for around R3k. That wasn't a bad price!
