Hi Eben

BBC-SA is Wildbuggers in disguise.

At the last AGM it was decided to change the name in order to try and attract more members.

The Wildbuggers logo is still in evidence and the members still wear their colours.

Cheers

David

Then you perhaps know a guy from Melkbos who drives a souped up buggy and is busy restoring a Type 34 (Karmann Ghia)
I got him at the beach once and he was keen on info about this forum but we were lost with pens etc.

Last I saw the ghia it was at Volksieworld in Ottery getting brakes I think.

Right, so now you finally found me, or I found you... All I can say is that the Ghia is still in restoration as you may have picked up from previous posts. The buggy is even more souped up (1914cc Engle 110 cam, 041 heads 2X36mm ICA Webers).

The Ghia of course was set alight by the restorers when it was all but complete. It was severely damaged, essentially all work was undone. I considered for a while pushing it down the slipway in Melkbos after removing the engine, but insanity prevailed and I started over. She is now further restored that she was prior to the fire, and I'm a lot poorer.

I'm starting on a new project soon (end Sept) which is a Berry Mini-T. I am considering putting the 1914cc engine from my bug in it and getting a Dave Rowley Turbo motor for my bug. It's that insanity thing again, can't seem to shake it...
